update

We had another doctor's appointment this week and there is no change to report really. She's still head down and pretty high up so it's looking like it's going to be a few weeks unless she gets antsy in there. My bet is I'll be induced around the 11th.

We did find out however that I tested positive for Group B Strep. Group B Strep, also known as Beta Strep or GBS, is a bacteria that about 25% of women are carriers of and don't even know it. It lives in your system and goes undetected unless tested. If not treated Emma will get it and it could cause complications. So, I have to be hooked up to an IV with antibiotics before delivery. If I happen to have a c-section then there's nothing to worry about since it's only transferred vaginally. Nothing to worry about, I just may have to walk around stuck to an IV pole. Ant least I'll be hydrated!

My hospital bag is packed now minus the things I use on a daily basis. I'm shocked at how much stuff I need to bring... from washcloths and a hairdryer to bottles of water. Apparently the hospital water tastes like the plastic pitcher they serve it in, yuk! I also need to have two bags, one for the delivery room and one for the recovery room. I guess they don't want a huge overnight bag in the room... what a pain.

I went to Babies R Us and picked up all the rest of the stuff I need from my registry yesterday. I think the only thing I still need to get is the bouncy seat which I can only order online. We also picked up our glider this morning so I am starting to feel a little more ready. The nursery is still piled high with gifts from last weekend but we plan to tackle that this weekend.

It turns out that Dave is not going to PA this weekend to visit his grandfather after all. Granddad is having surgery on Tuesday for a cataract and he's a little anxious to have visitors before hand. We wouldn't want him to be overly tired before surgery so the trip has been postponed. We're hoping Dave can make it up soon after Emma is born but we'll play it by ear. Pray for granddad for us to make it through surgery without complications.

I'm still feeling pretty good aside from a little more pressure and Emma's kicks to the ribs. Dave has resorted to the couch on many occasions so I can sleep, poor guy, but it's getting a little better. I'm thankful I'm not swollen or in a lot of pain.

I'll try to take some 37 week pictures this weekend and post later on. The belly is quite large now. :)

love to all.
