Emma hates anything green (peas, green beans etc.) I have to mix them with something sweeter to get her to eat them (sweet potatoes, carrots etc.)
Her list of foods now includes: oatmeal, rice cereal, bananas, peaches, pears, apples, mangoes, carrots, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, and winner winner chicken dinner
When she's done eating she makes raspberries and spits out everything left in her mouth
She loves chewing on straps - especially the one on her highchair
She goes to bed at 7:00 after dinner, a bath and cuddle time with mom in her rocker
During cuddle time she always burps twice then nuzzles in to my armpit with her thumb in her mouth. I know it's then time to put her down
She loves to bounce, especially in her Jumperoo, which we got free from a neighbor
We read a book before every nap. Her favorites are the Foot Book, Guess How Much I Love You, The Runaway Bunny and Puppy Love (touch book)
She wakes up at 7:15 am, eats breakfast and takes a nap until about 9 every morning. The she has a fruit and oatmeal, a bottle with rice and takes another nap at around 10:30. The third nap comes around 2 and sometimes even a fourth at 5. What a difference from a few months ago.
She immediately calms down when you sing to her. I'm running out of songs. Anyone know a good lullaby CD?
She giggles when you change her clothes.
Her favorite bath toy is a butterfly made out of a washcloth, given to her by our friends Dayna and Kelly. His name is Mr Butterfly and we have to say goodbye to him when bath time is over.
After her bath we have lotion time. I put a small amount in my fingers and rub it until it's warm. She giggles in anticipation.
She got her first tooth on Thursday July 28. Number two popped out yesterday. They are both on the bottom in the center.
Her tired signs are rubbing her eyes, pulling her ears, sucking her thumb and scratching her head.
She doesn't have a binky yet, but she loves holding her burp cloth close to her face.
Cooper is her favorite - she reaches out to him when he passes by and laughs.
Her new thing is to hold her breath and grunt - her face gets all red and it freaks me out.
She sucks her left thumb. A lefty? I hope so.
She is starting to "kiss" but with an open mouth and her face squished against mine.
She loves my necklaces. Especially the one I got from my best friend Nikki. She tries to eat it.
When she's nursing she likes to play with my hair.
Phones, remotes and keyboards are very intriguing to her.
She's wearing 9 month clothes and in a size 2 shoe. Socks don't ever seem to fit.
Her hearing is impeccable. She'll stop what she's doing if she hears daddy, Cooper or Grammy in another room
If she's on her play mat she will inevitably find the fringe on the rug, no matter which direction she's facing
Her nicknames are: Baby, peanut, pookie, muffin, munchkin, Em, stinker (daddy calls her that), sweet pea
She nurses 5 times a day (7:15, 10, 1:30, 4:00 and 7) and eats three meals of solid foods (9:30, 2 and 6:30).
She loves the butterflies on her curtains.
She's starting to make "ba ba" sounds.
She's ticklish under her arms.
She has a cold right now and when she's stuffy she wrinkles up her nose and breathes hard. It's adorable.
She's content in her crib for a good 30 minutes before I get her in the morning.
Daddy kisses her goodnight every night after her bath and before cuddle time with mom.
