Its been pretty chaotic here in the Simpson household as we get ready for our first family vacation to the beach. I am so excited to see Emma in her bathing suit and experience the ocean for the first time. We're all set with 1400 bottles of suntan lotion, 3 borrowed baby tents (apparently 1 isn't enough for me) poptarts for the car (um, yum!) and gobs of stuff I'm pretty much sure we are not going to use. Bust, rest assured, the trusty computer will be making it's appearance at the beach yet again this year - why cna't I ever take a real vacation anymore!!!
This year will be our second trip to Sunset Beach, NC. It's the last beach before the SC border just north of Myrtle Beach. We'll be lugging Dave's parents, Su and the girls, Scott and our little caravan of us, Emma and Coop. I think Coop has a funny feeling something is happening - he hears the word beach and goes somewhat ballistic. Last year was his first year and aside from the side effects of swallowed salt water he had a blast! I'll be sure to post pictures as the week goes on.
We also just said farewell to Nana (my mom). She came to visit Emma for a long weekend. We played, showed her how we can almost sit up and told her all about our toys, books and adventures. Nana loved on her, fed her and helped out around the house (thanks mom!) while mom and dad worked (wha'ts new, right?) She'll be back for Emma's baptism on September 21 when she, great grandma T and grandpa and grandma Doerr come for a visit.
