Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker
Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

We're doing pretty well over here... just jammin' away day after day pondering how we're going to fit four adults in this time room we call an office. I hope my brother isn't claustrophobic! But seriously, it's going to be a real test to see if Dave and I can get even more creative with our work space and fit one more breathing, moving body into this cave. The positive side of this is that I will get to spend a lot of time with Andy, something I haven't had the pleasure to do in years.

We went down to Fredericksburg last weekend to celebrate Katie, Barbara and Scott's girlfriend Sunny's birthdays. Emma's highlights included actually eating and liking birthday cake, dancing, and toting around balloons, her new favorite toy.

I could NOT get enough of how cute she was with thise balloons.

Week 17 update

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Hmmm... A turnip? I'm not even sure I know what those things look like let alone how big they are. I'll refer to google for this one...

Ahhhh... a turnip. Bigger than I thought, but then again I'm no horticulturist nor do I eat those beet like things. Wait, are they beets?

The best part of the week by far has been that I can now feel the baby moving around. It feels much more pronounced than with Emma and with each kick I get more and more excited to meet the little one. Knowing how precious babies are and what they grow into it makes being pregnant again so much more rewarding and fulfilling. The little person will be here soon enough, but in the meantime I am going to count my blessings and look forward to all the little kicks I get from inside. I'll take heartburn, sleeplessness and all the pains in the world to remember this feeling forever.

Love to all.
Amy
