I'm a big girl now

I knew the day would come that my baby girl would be eating with a spoon, I just didn't think it would happen so quickly. It's now that I play the part again of the mom that misses her baby and knows that these fleeting moments are soon going to be a distant memory. I am part sad that she's no longer that helpless little bundle that simply ate, slept and pooped, but giddy that she's becoming more and more like a small adult trapped inside with so much to learn.

I wish all of you could have seen her face when she first felt the spoon on her gums. It was that look that said "what in the heck is that and what in the world do you expect me to do now!" She pushed the first bit of cereal out with her tongue as if to taste something yukky, but soon starting getting the idea that it needed to be swallowed. By the time the bowl was done she was covered in rice cereal, cuteness all around.


Daddy partook in the event and got it all on video....


We're going to stick with rice cereal for a few weeks until we master the tongue/swallow technique and then move on to bigger and better things... peas and green beans here we come!
